Season 2 of Akebi’s Sailor Uniform
Season 2 of ‘Akebi’s Sailor Uniform’ aired on January 9, 2022 and ended a few months later, on March 27, 2022. Each episode has a duration of approximately 22-24 minutes.
CloverWorks has not renewed the Slice of Life anime as of right now. Unfortunately, the show has not gained a large fan-following in western countries. The anime’s domestic success is crucial for its renewal. The manga sales after the premiere of the show are one indicator of that. Unfortunately, the manga sales of ‘Akebi’s Sailor Uniform’ have not been significant, which is yet another setback for its return.
It is important to keep in mind that only four of the nine volumes of Hiro’s manga series have been covered by the anime. The series has been well-received, meaning that viewers are enthusiastic about its renewal. If the anime receives a good domestic response and the creators see a future for it, season 2 of ‘Akebi’s Sailor Uniform’ will most likely return in the late 2023.

Comparison of Akebi’s Sailor Uniform manga to the anime
Based on Hiro’s manga Akebi’s Sailor Uniform, (Akebi-chan no Serafuku), the story of the anime TV series is inspired by Hiro’s illustrations. Super Cub’s creator is also Hiro, who illustrated the story. Super Cub was completed in March 2022 by Volume 8.
Since August 2016, the Akebi manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump online journal. Volume 9 was published on October 19, 2021. The manga reached Chapter 58 when the first anime season ended in March 2022. There was also a Chapter 0 Prologue, which is the opening scene of the anime.
Unfortunately, there is no North American publisher that has yet announced English translations of Akebi’s Sailor Uniform manga. There are fan translations that keep up to date with the most recent Japanese chapters.
The anime adaptation had a unique aspect that stood out instantly: it toned down the fanservice. Although there were some scenes in both versions of the manga, certain details that are more blush-worthy than the anime had were only mentioned.
Manga fans prefer an anime adaptation to stick to the story and adapt each chapter in a clear manner. CloverWorks accomplished this feat so well, that even though the Akebi anime did rewrite story elements beginning with Episode 3, while adding some original scenes from anime, no one is complaining.
The anime allowed screen time to other girls’ stories arcs, before returning to an earlier manga story arc about Komichi inviting Erika Kizaki (the blonde twin-tails) over to her home. Episode 6 adapted the Erika fishing story arc from Chapters 8, 12 and 13.
Erika was presented by the anime as Erika’s first best friend, but Erika went MIA for several episodes after putting together these separate chapters. However, the story was rearranged better than the manga, which had Erika and Erika promise to meet up early, but push for the big event for multiple chapters. This was quite odd, in retrospect.
Episode 9 was essentially a combination of story elements from different chapters to create an anime original episode. It bridged the gap between Chapters 16, 17 and 16. This episode was basically a teaser episode for future Chapter 24, and featured swimsuits, rain at a river, as well as parts of a future pool section. The future Tokyo trip, which was pre-empted by a comment, can be adapted by Akebichan Season 2 or an OVA episode.
Episode 10’s first half was also expanded on the pages that made up the first few pages of a single chapter.
Although the story was told in a variety of ways, the anime did not rush through the source material. Episode 1 was adapted from Chapters 0 to 2.
The Chapters 14 and 15 were used as the basis for the swimming competition with Minakami Rini. Episode 8’s ending scene, in which the summer uniform is introduced with a triumphant spin, was taken from Chapter 16. Episodes 10-12 focused on the events surrounding the summer sport festival.
It is predicted that the end of Akebi-chan Episode 12 will correspond with manga Volume 4: Chapter 23, all things being equal.
There is plenty of material available to make Akebi’s Sailor Uniform Season 2! Manga readers can jump straight to Chapter 24 to read the manga before they watch the anime.
