Chitose Kizuki is a Japanese journalist and author who has written extensively on Japan’s culture and society. She is the founder of the website Japan Times, which she co-founded in 2006 with her husband, Takashi Kizuki. Kizuki is the author of several books, including “Japan Times: A History of the Japanese Press” (2006), “The Japan Times Reader” (2008), and “The Japan Times Guide to Culture and Society” (2012). She also writes for various other publications, including “The New York Times,” “The Wall Street Journal,” and “Time.” Kizuki has been a visiting professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, New York University’s Stern School of Business, and Kyoto University.

Biography And History

Superpower Liberation Army Arc

Chitose is with other leaders from the Superpower Liberation Army during a meeting in which Re-Destro announces his intent to destroy the Super-Villain Alliance. She discusses Detnerat’s recent entry into the hero business during the meeting.

Later, in the battle against the Superpower Liberation Army, she fights HimikoToga. She continues to “interview” Himiko about her past and her motivations for joining the Alliance. Himiko says that she lives normal and that she doesn’t believe her. She then tells Himiko that her fascination with blood made her destined to be a villain.

Himiko gets tired of hearing her and retaliates. She delivers an explosive blow that briefly stops Himiko from moving. She informs Himiko that she will be a human sacrifice and that her death would be recorded in the sacred texts of their new age. Himiko runs away, taking the disguise of Ochaco.

She tries to stop her but Ochaco develops a new power that allows her to use Ochaco’s alter. Himiko sends her waltzing through space by Zero Gravity and she is then crushed to the ground after Himiko releases her. This blow causes Chitose to die.

This led to Himiko becoming a villain and was suppressed by hero society.Toga is almost killed by her repeated hits with her alter. However, she is caught off guard when Himiko transforms to Ochaco Uraraka and uses Zero gravity in order to lift her up into the air and send her plummeting from a dangerous height. She can only think of how amazing the article she will write about Toga, and she smiles in pure euphoria while she falls.

Shuiesha is a parody on the Shueisha real Shueisha who published Shonen Jump. However, it’s written with different kanji. His first name, Chitose, is made of Kanjis: Zhi (Chi) (Places), and Sui (Tose) (Year). “Chitose”, literally means “old age”. His name, Kizuki, is made up of Qi “Ki”, (Care, Spirit), and Yue” (“Month, Moon”).
