Astra Lost In Space (also known as Kanata no Asutora) is a Japanese anime series about sci-fi and space. It is an adaptation from a manga series of the same name, written by Kenta Shinohara in 2016. The series aired until 2017, with 5 volumes. Lerche Studio was there to follow the manga series from its inception in July 2019 through September 2018, when it was adapted into anime. It was directed by Masaomi Butou. We are now waiting for the Astra Lost in Space Season 2, which aired for only twelve episodes.
Recap Story: Astra Lost in Space Season 1
Space travel is now possible and economically viable in the future of 2063. A group of students from Caird High school travels to McPa, a nearby planet, for their Planetary Camp. The nine children are soon greeted by an intelligent, unimaginable sphere of light shortly after they arrive on the planet. It also attacks them and transports them to the farthest reaches of space. They discover an abandoned spacecraft while floating in orbit around an unknown world.
They find it to be in good condition and decide to use it to return to home. They must travel the 5,012-light-year distance to return home. To do this, they will visit alien planets that have life and replenish their resources. They call their ship Astra and embark on a long, dangerous adventure home. Along the way, they discover new aspects of themselves and strengthen their bonds.

Astra Lost in Space Season 2 Renewal Status
The anime’s debut episode received many positive reviews. The critics also enjoyed it. It received many compliments for its excellent storyline and the outstanding background music. It was very relaxing and calming. It’s no wonder that fans want more of this series. The creators and the production studio have not revealed any information about Astra Lost In Space Season 2. Two years have passed and no word has yet been heard from the officials.
The manga series that started in May 2016 inspired the anime. After five volumes, it ran for one year and was finished in December 2017. The first season of the anime series used almost all the content from the source material. Lerche Studio has no source material for Astra Lost In Space Season 2. Since the manga series ended three years ago, there will not be any more manga volumes.

They are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the hit series, despite the popularity of the show and its fan base. The production studio doesn’t have enough material to adapt the next season. Meanwhile, the mangaka has not given us any indication that they will be returning to make the sequel.
The makers won’t have enough content to make Astra Lost In Space Season 2 again. In current circumstances, it seems almost certain that the anime series won’t return. Astro Lost in Space has only OVAs for couples episodes, according to our best guess.
