Dorohedoro Season 2 Plot

And while we do know what happens further in the manga series, as it is finished, we actually don’t know what will happen in the second (and potential third and fourth seasons) season of Dorohedoro, because we don’t know how many chapters that season, is going to adapt. The sheer number of chapters is still a mystery so we cannot assume as to the content.

Namely, we don’t know how much of the now-published material the producers would adapt, nor how many episodes the second season would have. This is why we cannot really speculate about any precise details related to the plot.

The series is set in a post-apocalyptic future and takes place in three different worlds: Hole, a sprawling human-inhabited favela-like city heavily polluted by wizard magic; Wizard World, vibrant land of magic users controlled by the wizard boss En; and Hell, a torturous underworld inhabited by all deceased wizards and ruled by demons presided over by the head demon Chidaruma.

Although they resemble each other at first sight, humans and wizards are two different species. The former evolved naturally, while the latter descended from a primordial devil called Chidaruma. Wizards have a special circulatory system that allows them to produce “smoke,” the source of their unique magical powers.

Most wizards have weaker powers, while others are capable of far greater feats, such as resurrecting the dead or controlling time; these powers are incredibly rare and highly sought after. The amount of smoke a wizard can create determines the effectiveness of their magical abilities.

Many wizards work to improve their smoke production through surgical procedures or, more commonly, through the illegal use of black powder, a smoke-enhancing drug distributed by criminals. Smoke can also be bought and sold, similar to pawning magic, with the sold magic having the same effects as the cast magic.

Both the magical realm and Hole are highly lawless. In the past, Hole was ruled by violent vigilantes who tortured and killed suspected wizards and their families. However, these vigilantes have since disbanded, leaving Hole’s inhabitants largely helpless to prevent wizards from experimenting on and killing them, to the point where specialized hospitals must be operated to save human victims of magical attacks.

In addition, the magical realm used to be dominated by human traffickers who would extract magic from wizards for resale before disposing of their corpses. En is one of the few surviving victims of these machinations and eventually tore down the realm to establish himself as the ruling mob boss of the magical world.

The realms are structured not unlike a caste system: Demons hold the highest rank, are deeply respected and revered by the wizards, and obey Chidaruma’s orders; within the wizards, there is a hierarchical system in which powerful magic users live in luxury by selling their skills, while wizards who are weaker, unskilled, or have less desirable magic can live in abject poverty in their world; and at the lowest end are the people forced to live in the slums of Hole, surrounded by heavy pollution and magical acid rain caused by wizards.RELATED:50 Best Mafia Anime You Need to See (2021 Updated)

In response to the abuse they endure, some weak wizards and humans join a widespread gang called The Cross-Eyes. Their members can be identified by the tattoos with the red cross on their eyelids and work to supply weaker races with illegal black powder and oppose En’s family.

A man named Caiman is searching for his true identity after being turned into a reptilian head by a wizard and has no memory of his former life.

Together with his friend Nikaido, he violently attacks the wizards in the Hole with the aim of taking their heads into his mouth, where a strange face appears from his throat and judges whether the wizard he bit was responsible for his transformation or not. Somehow Caiman is immune to magical effects and therefore extremely dangerous for wizards, especially given his size and skills with knives.

News of a lizard-headed wizard killer immune to magic catches the attention of En, a powerful wizard and head of a syndicate known as “The En Family,” and he sends his cleaners Shin and Noi to kill Caiman. En himself is currently trying to take out a gang of low-level wizards, the Cross-Eyes, after an encounter with their legendary boss nearly cost him his life years ago.

Shin and Noi regularly work with low-level sorcerers Fujita, who wants revenge because Caiman murdered his partner, and Ebisu, who lost her memory after having her face accidentally torn off.

As the denizens of the hole, the En family, and the Crosshairs gang, as well as many others, clash, the mystery of Caiman’s identity begins to unravel, rekindling old grudges and threatening to change both the hole and the wizarding world forever.
