Gunther Schultz, better known by his stage name Aot, is a German DJ and producer. He has released two albums and has toured throughout Europe. Aot was born in the town of Wiesbaden, Germany in 1984. He started DJing at the age of 15 and soon became known for his innovative and unique sound. In 2007, he released his first album, “Invisible”. The album was well-received by music critics and debuted at number one on the German charts. Since then, Aot has toured throughout Europe with his band “The Invisible” and released several new singles. In early 2018, he announced that he would be retiring from music production after 10 years of work.

Gunther was the most assertive member of the Special Operations Squad. He tried to stay true to his mission and avoided joking situations. He is also a more reasonable person than his colleagues. During Eren’s involuntary conversion, Gunther was the only one who was able to ask why he wasn’t a threat to the group.

Gunther appears for the first time when the Scouting Corps goes on an expedition outside of the walls. He and Erd form a support group that Petra has chosen to aid Levi and his wounded soldier.
Petra, Erd, and Erwin are shocked when Levi sets out on his own to kill the titans. The commander Erwin informs the expedition that the titans have been sighted heading towards the city via a breach in the wall.

ARC OF THE FEMALE TITAN
After the Trial by Eren Jaeger at the Stohess District ends, Gunther and the rest of their team travel to the Research Headquarters which will serve as Eren Jaeger’s safe house. Gunther and Erd arrive at the building. They comment on the unusability of the HQ. Levi then orders everyone to clean it up. The Special Operations Squadron begins to analyze their next expedition.
Gunther then points out that this is “going too fast”. Hange then arrives to ask Levi for permission to borrow Eren in order to assist her with her experiments. Eren then tells Eren that Gunther and the other members of the group must leave. Gunther and her companions are then ordered to clear out the room the next day. They are then ordered to leave the room the next day after they have been instructed to clean up their barracks.
After being informed about Sawney’s murder and Bean’s killing, Gunther arrives at the scene with some soldiers. He wonders if this was a coordinated effort by more than one person. Gunther and Erd discuss the investigation. Eren asks Gunther if any of his comrades will be entering the Corps. Eren replies yes but then says no as he isn’t sure.Gunther joins the 57th expedition to the territory beyond the walls a month later. Eren recalls Gunther telling him the plan for the expedition. Also, Eren asks Eren if he understands the meaning of the question Commander Erwin posed at that time.
In addition, Eren responds that he doesn’t, and that the other people don’t know the answer. Gunther suggests that the plan could have another purpose, but it is not up for soldiers to determine that. Gunther isn’t the only one to understand the meaning of this question.
He and the rest of Levi’s team are informed by a strange titan that has entered the right wing. Gunther and his companions see the black smoke sign indicating that the titan is close to their position. The strange titan has already entered the Forest of Giant Trees. Gunther and the others beg Levi for an order.
Levi just throws a sound bomb to calm them down, reminding them about their job. As Eren struggles to follow his orders, Levi asks him whether he believes in himself or the team. Eren recalls the days leading up to the expedition.
Gunther and his companions witness Eren Jaeger fail in his attempt at becoming a titan for Hange. Moments later, they see how Eren’s arm transforms while trying to grab a spoon into a titan’s arm. They panic and position themselves to kill Eren. Hange, who reveals why Eren had his arm become a titan’s, shows Hange and the others that their mistakes were made. They then bite each other as punishment to prove they are trustworthy.
Eren returns to the present and decides to trust his teammates. Gunther discovers that the female Titan is moving faster and they are losing their advantage. Surprised, when they reach Erwin’s location, they are able to stop the Female Titan with hook cannons. This disables her joints, making it impossible for her move.
Eren is then informed by all of them that this is the Exploration Corps‘s power. Gunther and other people discuss the matter with Eren. Eren is then told that he cannot move.Gunther and other people argue about Erwin’s decision not to tell soldiers about the plan. Eren questions why the elite soldiers didn’t know this. Erd and Gunther agree on Erwin’s decision. They state that soldiers who answered this question back then would have been a part of the plan.
The team later hears the shouts of the Female Titan and watches as the titans race towards the titan. The Female Titus uses this distraction to make the titans eat her titan body. She can then escape with her HTML3D. Erd makes fun of Petra and Auruo’s urination on their first expedition.
Gunther then scolds them and tells them to concentrate on their work. They then see a hooded man, mistakenly thinking it was Levi. The strange soldier slowly approaches them but Gunther realizes that it isn’t Levi. This strange soldier approaches Gunther, and cuts his throat, resulting in instant death. It turns out that the Female Titan, disguised as an Exploration Corps member, was actually the Female Titan. The female Titan is then executed.

ARC of INSURRECTION
Historia is about ready to inject herself with the serum to allow her to transform into a titan to devour Eren. She then asks Eren his reasons. Eren is completely disillusioned and replies that his father stole power from them. Many people have also died. He mentions Gunther in Levi’s Squadron.
ARCH OF SHIGANSHINA
Erwin Smith, on the edge of possible annihilation and in front of a confrontation with the Beast Titan in shadows of the Maria Wall begins to wonder if all the deaths of his comrades who gave their lives to help humanity have any meaning. Levi will always remember Gunther as one of his comrades.
