Black Bullet: A Quick Recap
Black Bullet was created in 2021 by a parasitic virus known as “Gastrea”, which infected humans and made them into monsters. Humanity is forced to flee the city behind Monolith walls. These walls are made of Varanium, which can be harmful to Gastrea.
The Gastreas are countered. To fight the Gastreas, they send “Cursed Children” to young girls who have a small amount virus in their bodies. The “Cursed Children” can be called Promoters. They are responsible for guiding and protecting the children. They are assigned to work together to eradicate the threat of Gastrea.
Rentarou Satomi is a Promoter who was attacked by Gastreas as well as Enju Aihara, Enju’s Initiator, and lost his arm, leg, and eye. They fight together to defeat Gastrea in Tokyo, their home town.
Black Bullet Season 2
Black Bullet began as a light novel before it became an anime and manga. In 2014, Kinema Citrus Studio adapted the anime. Shiden Kanzaki wrote the light novel and Saki Ukai illustrated it. The series was published by ASCII Media Work’s Dengeki Bunko.
Black Bullet has received a 7.13 rating from more than 400,000 MyAnimeList members. The anime is ranked at 147 in popularity, which is impressive considering it was released seven years ago. Fans are eagerly awaiting Black Bullet season 2, despite the lengthy wait.
There are currently seven volumes of this light novel. The anime has already finished the first four volumes, leaving three volumes for animation. Shiden Kanzaki (light novel author) has been forced to take a break due to the pressure of writing the series. This is affecting his mental health.
Although rumors abound about Shiden Kanzaki opening a restaurant, there is no clear reason why he has been absent from the internet. Fans are eager to see the continuation of light novels and anime, no matter what the reason.
