Fans of the hit anime series, “Sage Crest” have been eagerly awaiting the release of the second season. However, with no set release date in sight, some are beginning to worry. According to reports, the producers of “Sage Crest” are currently in negotiations with various networks and streaming services. However, due to the high demand for the show and its complex production process, they have yet to come to a final agreement. This uncertainty has caused some fans to speculate that the second season may not be released at all. If this is true, it would be a major disappointment for those who have been following the series since its premiere last year. Fortunately, there is still a chance that Season 2 will be released soon. If negotiations do not progress as planned or if there are any unforeseen complications, producers may choose to release Season 2 as an online-only series instead. In either case, fans will need to remain patient until they know more about what’s going on. ..
Gaius’ misadventures have attracted a huge fan base around the world. The anime has been praised by critics for its world-building abilities and character enhancement. Followers may be shocked when their favorite anime returns with a new season after the end of the first installment. We have you covered if you are still questioning the same.
Season 2 of The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest – Release Date
Season 1 of “The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest” premiered January 8, 2022. The weekly episode launch lasted more than 2.5 months. The first installment was completed on March 26, 2022.
If you are wondering if the current has been renewed, J.C.Staff may be able to inform you that it is. Fans shouldn’t feel discouraged, as season 1 is only over, and the anime could return in the future. The season finale’s post-credits scene shows Mathias and his friends heading to Syhill to confront the demon controlling it.
Zardias claimed that he is not the only chaos demon on the market, and he did so moments before he died. These clues hint at the next installment of the anime. Shinkoshoto’s gentle novel sequence already has fifteen volumes, so there are plenty of supplies for future installments.
The anime’s overall rating is the only thing that worries me. However, there have been several other reveals with similar critiques that were renewed for another installment. Rankings don’t necessarily dictate how the anime will proceed. All of the above parts taken into account, it is safe to assume that ‘The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest’ will debut sometime around early 2024.

Season 2: The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest Plot: What it Can Be About
The season 1 finale sees the final stage of the battle between Zardias and Matthias as each side fights to the death. Eduard saves Lurie and Alma from being killed by resurrected demonic demons. Zardias stabs Matthias, but he manages to resurrect him. He perseveres and defeats the chaos demon. Zardias warns him that he will soon be changed by anyone as powerful as him, but he doesn’t want to die. As Matthias soon learns about the attack on the Syhill Empire using doll troopers, which is triggered by the presence of a powerful demonic, his predictions seem to be accurate.
Season 2 will see Matthias and his friends travel to Syhill Empire to study the origins of the attack. They will find out who the dangerous demon is, and how he plans to destroy civil society. He also has his eye on Matthias. His legendary stories of bravery have become a pretty good model. As they spend more time together, Matthias’s relationship to Lurie will grow and become stronger.

Manga The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest light novel series that is similar to anime
The anime’s story is inspired by Shinkoshoto’s light novel series, The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest. Huuka Kazabana was the illustrator. Shinkoshoto is also well-known for his My Isekai Life manga/light novels series. This series received an anime adaptation in 2022.
The story, like many other isekai books began as The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest webnovel that was self-published on Shousetsuka ni Narou (“Let’s Become a Writist”) in December 2016. The web novel was completed in December 2016 and deleted by the author. However, it contained 341 chapters including the prologue.
In 2017, SB Creative’s GA Novel imprint started publishing light novel adaptations. The light novel series had reached Volume 14 as of January 15, 2022.
Shinkoshoto, author, teamed up in July 2017 with LIVER JAM&POP (I cannot even make this up!) to start serializing The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest manga in Square Enix’s Manga UP! magazine. The manga had reached Volume 17 as of December 10, 2021.
An official English translation has not yet been announced for the light novel series. Unofficial fan translations have translated the entire web novel into English.
Square Enix, a North American publisher, is responsible for the English translation of The Strongest Sage With The Weakest Crest’s official manga. The English books had reached Volume 8 by March 8, 2022. Volume 9 was scheduled to be released on November 22, 2022.
Shinkoshoto published the spin-off light novel series, The Strongest Sage Of Annihilation Magic: Mastering Magic, Becoming the Strongest in September 2020. Volume 2 is now available. Ponjea and Yue Ling have been adapting the manga into a series in Square Enix’s Manga UP! It’s up to Volume 5.
There is no English translation available for the spin-off series.
This episode is the first of the Arifureta anime seasons. In a rush, it skipped the first chapters to reach the moment when the main protagonist realized his true potential.
The Strongest Sage Episode 1 also skips directly from Gaius casting Reincarnation up to the end manga Chapter 3. This content skip is to be viewed in context. Chapters are approximately 55 pages long in manga, while later volumes have fewer pages.
The anime could have made Gaius’ suicide more relatable by describing more of his life, other than the fact he ate a lot since his crest (or mark) had capped his potential. The anime audience is never told that Gaius’ primary goal in life was to defeat powerful monsters in Outer Space. This meant that his quest for more power was a means to an end and not the goal itself.
The anime briefly mentions in a montage Mathias Hildesheimr’s awakening to his identity as the Sage when he was six years old. He was the third son to Duke Castor, and he had not achieved the crest in close combat.
The problem with skipping family introductions is the fact that they will be a part of The Strongest Sage Season 2. Mathias’ childhood in his hometown, where his poor brother Vivgel was supposed inherit the title as head of the family because he wore a “superior crest”, is not mentioned in the anime. The manga shows that Lake, Lake’s eldest brother, was able to chantless magic while Vivgel, a rather weak man, was the brunt.
The tone of The Strongest Sage manga, which was lighter than the anime, was even lighthearted. It even included background jokes. The anime’s first few episodes used only Matt blushing and acting flustered whenever Lurie Aventrot came too close.
Matty, however, was more open to Lurie’s beauty than the manga version. However, he awkwardly introduced himself when he first met. Matty is definitely interested in the manga, but he was more comfortable being outwardly calm than the awkward pronunciation of “romance” all the time. This is absurd for the anime, since Matty is a confident adult living in the body of 12-year-old boys.
J.C. Staff could argue that skipping the first chapters was a smart decision. The twist that a powerful sage deliberately killed himself to be revived was a great addition, but the start of the source material (both manga- and light novel) felt slow and uneven.
After the mystery of the “Failure Crest” and the lapsed magic knowledge were revealed, the story became more prominent in manga Volume 2. The anime-only audience might not like to read the same introductory isekai tropes again so the first episode skipped ahead to the more exciting plot elements.
Manga fans agree that The Strongest Sage was better adapted to manga than the trashcan fire that was the episode of She Professed Herself Puppil of the Wise Man. The anime’s other episode opened with an original anime exposition. However, the actual novel adaptation began at the end of the episode.
The overall adaptation pacing for The Strongest Sage Episode 1 was still adapted 7 chapters. To put this in perspective, Chapter 8 marks the end of manga Volume 2.
Episode 2 had a significantly slower adaptation pace (Chapters 8 to 10.75). Episode 2 did not skip the scene in which Matty magically controlled 17 arrows to kill 17 wolves. This feat made Arma Lepsius realize just how vast the skill gap was between Matty and her.
Episode 3 also adapted approximately 3 manga chapters (Chapters 11.75-13.75). The anime should have noted that Matty had only 10% of his magic power left after the dungeon crawl. He had to rely more on strategy and wit than sheer power.
The Strongest Sage with a Weakest Crest Episode 4 continued the slow pace by adapting manga chapters 13.75 through 15.
In order to get to Episode 12, the ending episodes had to be condensed.
Episode 7 skipped the whole dungeon raid, and Episode 9 made a shorter version of the Guild rank-leveling quest by jumping to the duel against Rank S Adventurer Giluas. Chapter 30 of manga had Matty and her girls climbing up the ladder by taking all the available quests simultaneously. This mini-story arc should be skipped as Matty’s group was simply being too aggressive by quickly attacking monsters and fulfilling quest conditions using items already stored in storage.
The anime skipped Chapters 31-33 of the B-Rank Promotion Test arc, where Matty and his group traveled to Fredia Territory. They suppressed an unusual monster outbreak on the Testra Plains, under the watchful eye of a guild examiner.
This story arc was not skipped. Matty was OP against thousands upon thousands of monsters, and a kaiju/Godzilla like big boss. Matty intervened to stop a parasite-type creature from emerging from its magic cacoon.
Episode 10 was closer to the manga. The major exception was Matty’s group, which skipped the adventurer’s Guild to go straight to the ore plant. This means that Matty’s group skipped the adorable demon guild receptionist, which was introduced at manga Chapter 35’s end.
It is predicted that The Strongest Sage Episode 12 will end with a stoppage corresponding to manga Volume 13, Chapter 40 (light novel volume 6).
It’s the perfect ending point, since it ends the first season with a huge battle against the resurrected old demon Zaridias. Matty, Lurie and Arma become Rank A adventurers to track down the magic detector device. This battle is the only time Matty is actually in serious danger, so the anime had to rush through the source material to get to this point.
The first season needed an Episode 13, but it was necessary to allow for fleshing out the beginning. Manga Volume 7’s capital invasion (light novel Volume 3) was a great mid-season climax. However, the pace of the first season could have been slower and some episodes would have skipped the OP/ED videos to allow for the single-cour anime more time.
The good news? There are many light novels that can be used as source material for The Strongest Sage Season 2 anime.
Unfortunately, light novel Volume 7 won’t be available to English-only book readers. Manga Volume 13 won’t likely be published until the latter part of 2023, at the rate that English manga is being printed.

The Strongest Sage Season 2 spoilers (plot summary/synopsis)
Note: This article was originally published before Saikyou Kenja Episode 12’s release date. It will be updated as necessary. This article assumes the second season will continue the story in Volume 7.
After discovering the demonic conspiracy, Matty defeated them and then buried Zaridias the worst demon of the neighboring nation. His triumphant return was not a time of peace.
Although Zaridias was powerful, there are many more Demons of Chaos around the world. The King summoned Matty and informed him that a strange creature had attacked a city near the border.
One of these magical, humanoid wooden dolls was captured by the Kingdom. It was powered through many magical circles that were engraved into its body. Matty shocked everyone when he discovered that it was powered from siphoned human life force.
To stop the autonomous invasion, both the puppeteer (and the power source) must be destroyed. Matty believes that the only way to stop the autonomous invasion is to destroy both the puppeteers’ power source and the source of their vitality.
A small, elite group of knights is sent by the kingdom to investigate the Reria Barony near the border. Matty is already a respected figure in the capital. However, Matty is now a Baron to allow him to examine rural areas.
Matty is unable to avoid a fight with his brother Vivgel. Vivgel has a bad reputation in the Eis Kingdom for his antics. Despite all the facts, Vivgel is still obsessed with Matty’s crest and regards him as a failure.
An alliance of border nobles has formed to deal with the new threat. The Commander is Matty’s father Castor Hildesheimer and his brother Lake Hildesheimer.
They decide to infiltrate Saihil Empire in order to capture the Demon puppet master. It turns out, the Demons have manipulated humans to control the dolls and execute their other plans.
In order to absorb the entire population’s life force, the enemy wants to poison the country’s water distribution system. Even ancient technology and magic are available to the enemy, including Matty’s teleportation circles, which he constructed in his previous life.
Matty is shocked to learn that the enemy uses Earth Demons. There are several races of demons like the Fog Demons or half-demons. However, the Earth Demons were thought to have been exterminated in the wars of distant past.
Both the Earth Demons as well as a human king named Greville were resurrected. Matty is unable to understand why Greville, a Greville he had seen in the past, would work with demons.
In addition, Matty tricks the Earth Demons into revealing that they were resurrected from “stars falling from the sky”. Matty is thrilled by this revelation, as it shows that there are more powerful beings in outer space.
A hologram of King Greville then reveals that he is the mastermind. Greville declares that he will wait for Matty.
Matty decides that Matty and the party will face this new threat on their own, as he isn’t sure what dangers lie ahead. They will be travelling to the Eis Kingdom’s gamble dungeon Irias to level up and prepare.
To see what happens next, anime fans will have until The Strongest Sage with the weakest crest Season 2 is released. Keep watching!
