Hizashi Yamada, Member of the House of Representatives for the Kinki region, has been a member of the Japanese Diet since 2012. Yamada is a member of the Democratic Party of Japan and was formerly a member of the Liberal Democratic Party. Yamada was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1971. After graduating from high school, he studied at Waseda University and then worked as an assistant to an MP. He then became an MP in 2002 and served until 2012. Yamada has been involved in a number of committees including those on education, agriculture and fisheries, transport and communications, environment conservation, youth affairs and sports.
