Jujutsu Kaisen is a martial arts school in Kyoto, Japan. It was founded in the early 1800s by Yuta Okkotsu, a samurai who had learned jujutsu from his father. Okkotsu’s Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most comprehensive and well-known jujutsu schools in Japan. It offers classes for all levels of practitioners, from beginners to experienced martial artists. The school has been teaching jujutsu since 1801 and has developed a wide range of techniques that can be used in self-defense or combat. Jujutsu Kaisen’s techniques are based on the principles of karate and judo, and they are designed to protect people and property. The school offers a variety of classes, including self-defense classes, karate classes, and martial arts courses. There are also specialties such as jujitsu for pregnant women and children, as well as classes for people with disabilities. Yuta is currently a Jujutsu High second-year student. He works as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Miguel was his trainer in Africa until Yuta returned to Tokyo after the Shibuya Incident.
Appearance Yuta Okkotsu
Yuta, a young man with average height and dark blue eyes, has dark hair and a disheveled appearance. Yuta’s body language is clear that he is stressed. He is unconfident and has darkened his eyes due to lack sleep.
Yuta used to wear a suit as his uniform at school. For casual wear, he has a long-sleeve shirt with a stop at his forearms.
Yuta was given a special uniform after he transferred to Tokyo Jujutsu High. Yuta wears a loose, white jacket that stops at his forearms. His uniform is in the Jujutsu High standard dark colors. He often carries his sword around on his back.
Personality Yuta Okkotsu
Yuta wants to feel worthy of being alive.
Yuta was shy and lonely growing up. He was often bullied. Yuta lost his confidence and was unable to make friends due to Rika’s presence in his childhood. Yuta finds it difficult to communicate with others because he is scared of them or too shy to talk to them.
Yuta still cared deeply about others and chose to be alone. Maki Zenin called Yuta out as a moody child who has lived his whole life without any goals. Yuta acknowledged this and sought her counsel to help him become a jujutsu wizard. Yuta now realizes that he longs to feel at home.
Yuta is learning to be understanding and becoming friends with others.
Although his shy nature remains, Yuta gradually becomes more social and can interact with other people normally. Yuta struggled to get to know someone like Toge Inumaki, even after showing some improvement. At first, Toge scared Yuta. But then he began to realize how kind and caring he is.
Yuta feels guilty for cursing Rika.
Yuta gains confidence and friendships which helps him to be more confident in himself. He was responsible for Rika’s transformation into a curse and worked hard to find a solution. He was determined to succeed and pushed himself through training. He took the words of his mentors and friends to heart and showed a stronger side of himself. Yuta is driven by the desire to help others avoid danger.
Yuta displayed his darkest side against Suguru Geto. Yuta was hurt by Geto’s only friend, and the young man was willing to die for it.
Yuta’s fury allowed him to command Rika’s power at will. To avenge his friends who gave him the strength to live, he was willing to give his life for Rika.
Yuta takes on an apathetic persona to fool others into believing he wants Yuji Itadori to be killed.
Yuta, who had been away for a while, returned to Jujutsu High accompanied by a new Rika. It appeared that he was lost in the darkness. Yuji Itadori, Gojo’s other pupil was killed and he claimed that it was revenge for Toge’s arm. Yuta was a cold and serious persona, who was direct to the point. Yuji was merely attempted to kill him by exchanging words, then he apologized for the crime.
This was an act to protect Yuji’s life from the authorities. Yuta had no choice but to be convincing and Yuji was healed before the second-year could die. Yuta never had the opportunity to meet Yuji but he did go out of his way for Yuji’s benefit because Gojo asked. Yuta considers Yuji important and Yuta is very fond of Yuji. That was enough for him to help. Yuji also sympathizes because he was in the same situation and up for execution with a power that he couldn’t contain. Yuta doesn’t blame Yuji for Sukuna’s actions.
Yuta, despite being a cold-killer, is still a friendly and naturally kind person who has grown a lot. He is now more open-minded and less shy than he was before. Gojo was shocked that Yuta, his African teacher, was telling jokes when he visited him.

Yuta was able to easily reintegrate with his peers and he dedicated himself to helping them. He offered to rescue Megumi from the Culling Game. He was also diligent as a senpai, and agreed to stop Yuji if he ever regains control of his body. Yuta, who was thrilled to be reunited with Maki, expressed concern over her injuries and was happy to see her.
Yuta became concerned when it seemed as though Master Tengen’s barrier had closed their group down. He suggested they return because Megumi’s sister is busy. Tengen let them in and gave crucial information. Yuta then agreed to go into the Culling Game by himself. He suggested that they seek Kinji Hakari’s assistance, despite his moodiness. Yuta Okkotsu’s Curse Energy
Yuta Okkotsu has almost infinite Cursed Energy. His curse energy reserves are almost limitless and surpass even Gojo Satoru. Despite his Limitless, Gojo Satoru might run out of curse energy (though its chances are negligible), but Yuta will never.
In Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie, everyone is surprised by seeing the amount of Cursed Energy emitted by Yuta. The curse energy from his body brought everyone on edge. But, Yuta could not control or use his unlimited curse energy.
He was always surrounded by a thick aura of Cursed Energy but could not use it. After he learns to use the abundant curse energy within him, he becomes unstoppable. Yuta can use the curse energy to enhance his physical abilities like strength, speed, durability, reflexes, etc.
Using the curse energy Yuta’s physical abilities can be enhanced far beyond that of Itadori Yuji. We have already seen that Yuji is a monster in strength and durability. He was able to withstand multiple of Aoi’s powerful strikes easily.
Yuta can also pour his cursed energy into different objects and weapons to make them more powerful and deal more significant damage to the opponents.
Yuta Okkotsu’s Reverse Curse Technique
The reverse Curse Technique is probably the most useful curse technique. It allows the user to convert his own negative curse energy into positive curse energy and heal his own injuries. But Yuta can use this technique to heal himself and others as well.
The reverse Curse Technique is very rare, and only a few Jujutsu sorcerers can fully use it. We have seen Sukana utilising this technique to heal Itadori’s arms during his fight against the Special grade curse. Sukana eventually took him hostage by removing his heart from his body.
Yuta Okkotsu’s Special Ability
Yuta Okkotsu can copy the curse techniques of others. In Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie, we see him using Inumaki’s curse speech.
Imagine if Yuta could copy all kinds of curses like Megumi Fushiguro’s Ten Shadows and other powerful techniques from other Jujutsu Sorcerers.
If Yuta could copy Gojo Satoru’s Limitless and find a way to replicate his Six Eyes, he would surpass Gojo Satoru and become the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer in history. Because combining Limitless with his infinite cursed energy, he will become unstoppable as he will never run out of cursed energy.
The complete powers of his ability to copy cursed techniques are yet to be revealed completely but we can say for sure that if he manages to copy Gojo’s abilities like Cursed Technique Red, Blue, and Violet, he can eliminate any curse instantly.
Yuta can easily overpower Sukana if he gains full control of his powers and abilities. But, there is something that gives him more advantage. He has the unconditional support of the Queen of Curses, Rika.
Cursed Spirit Rika
Yuta can summon the Cursed Spirit Rika. It is more of a partner than a summon. Rika is the cursed spirit of Yuta’s childhood friend, who loved him and died at a very young age. Rika became a curse and stayed with Yuta.
Rika is so powerful that she can destroy large towns easily. One of the Four Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers, Suguru Geto, calls her the Queen of Curses. Rika is also a special grade curse and very powerful.
Rika can also provide Yuta with her own curse energy, allowing him to use powerful large-scale attacks. She loves Yuta and would protect her at any cost.

When he first began training as a sorcerer Yuji was handed Katanas primarily as a weapon to control the cursed power. After intense training with Maki, the best cursed user of tools in Jujutsu High, Yuta became competent with a sword capable of holding his the ring against cursed spirits, as well as Geto, who has extraordinary physical power.
Yuta continues to refine his swordsmanship skills and he still has Katana as the weapon of preference. Is Yuta stronger than Itadori Yuji?
Yes, Yuta is definitely stronger than Itadori Yuji. In terms of raw strength, speed, and agility, he cannot even reach near Itadori, but when he uses his cursed energy to enhance his physical abilities, he is far better than Yuji.
Also, when Itadori consumes and absorbs most of Sukuna’s fingers, the higher Jujutsu Sorcerers would hire Yuta Okkotsu to kill Itadori Yuji and Sukuna with him. They had him make a binding vow to kill Itadori.
Yuta killed Itadori, and as soon as his heart stopped, he healed him again with his Reverse Cursed Technique. Thereby he killed Itadori and fulfilled his vow but also managed to save his life.

Is Yuta weaker without Rika?
Rika is Yuta’s power and makes him stronger, but Yuta cannot be called weaker without Rika. He still has his huge reserves of Curse Energy, which are almost unlimited. Also, he can copy cursed techniques.
But, with Rika’s abilities, Yuta can pull off large scale attacks and target even long distances with huge powerful attacks. Without Rika, Yuta’s line of defence also is compromised as Rika is more like his partner and protects him from any dangerous attack.
