Gege Akutami’s bold writing has always impressed us. In the first few chapters, he killed his protagonist and then killed another character (yes I am talking about Junpei) within the next few chapters. Although I don’t like seeing people die, these events help us to see the truth. Curses are dangerous and evil. It is not easy to fight curses and death is an obvious consequence of being infected with them. It is difficult to get over the idea that our favorite characters might die, regardless of how hard I try to read between the lines.
Is Nobara Kukisaki really dead? Fans have been dying internally from the mystery.
PLOT ON NOBARA DEATH
Nobara Kukisaki just came out of a long and exhausting battle against Haruta Shigemo. She was rushed to the finish and is now engaged in another fight with Yuji against the special grade cursed spirit Mahito,, during the Shibuya Incident.
Sukuna is a raging tyrant in Shibuya. He has been killing anyone who moves using Itadori’s body. Yuji was shocked when he regained control. When he realized that the fighting was still continuing, he immediately recovered his cold focus.
Another side, inside Shibuya Station is badly injured and longing to take a rest with a book in hand. However, Transfigured Humans ambush him, forcing him into yet another fight.
Nanami dealt with his enemies with great speed and technique, despite his terrible state. Unfortunately, Mahito stumbled upon him at the most unfortunate moment. The spirit was now in physical contact to the sorcerer.
Yuji arrives at the scene to witness his mentor drawing his last breath while his torso was being destroyed by the monster. Feeling enraged, and like his soul had been split in two, Yuji sprints towards his enemy . (Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Chapter 120, p. 1-19).
THE BATTLE
Yuji is currently up against the real Mahito. Nobara, however, is up against a second, a copy of his invention. It was Nobara’s first encounter with him. She immediately recognized him as the patch-face curse that had been causing Itadori so much pain.
Nobara reminds her to keep away from the spirit’s hand, as he can shape souls and she is trying to unleash Black Flash again.
Nobara threw three nails at Mahito, but he dodged one. One of them pinned his head. After her attack, she kicked a sigh at Mahito and pinned two charged nail into it. Mahito blocks the sign and it explodes . He then gets blood.
The arrogant curse praises her strength and promises to bring his dead corpse to Yuji to crush whatever remains of his soul . (Jujutsu Kaisen manga: Chapter 122, p. 1-19).
To avoid the curse’s touch Nobara is taking additional precautions while still believing that the double has the same abilities and the real one. His own is the only one he can transform.
Mahito raises his arm to transform it into a spike, while Nobara barely dodges the attack. After the spike touched her cheek, it cut her hair and then turned into a huge ball of spikes. She dodges again by a hair.
Now Mohito’s left hand transforms into a huge claw, cutting the sorcerer ‘s shoulder open. She also hits Mohito’s face with the hammer.
His remarkable recovery abilities allow him to heal quickly, mocking the exorcist’s inept efforts. She ignores his comment and throws two more nails at the curse’s eyes. catches them, but loses sight Nobara, who is now over him.
She throws a bunch of nails at the spirit, activating Hairpin. But her attack did not affect his enemy in any way. Mahito was brimming with confidence but didn’t realize the true purpose of her attack. She wanted to disable him with a second Hairpin rush after the nails had landed in the correct position.
He rides the curse, but she doesn’t react because he still believes that she is no danger to him. He made a huge mistake when he realized that the exorcist had already discovered a way to harm him using her abilities.
She inserts her nails into Mahito’s forehead and activates resonance. This causes Mahito to become deranged. She didn’t know she was also helping Yuji, as the damage done to the clone also affected main body .
The double is now seriously injured and comes to the shocking conclusion that Itadori wasn’t just a fighter capable of hurting him; the girl was also a threat to his existence.
She realized that he could have transfigured her during battle after she had the upper hand in fighting . She concludes that Mahito isn’t the real one. He then confirms this with a horrible sadistic smile upon his disfigured face . (Jujutsu Kaisen manga: Chapter 123, p. 1-19).
The clone makes a run to get it. Nobara pursues her enemy to end him, and then heads towards the Fukutoshin Line Platform.
Nobara was blindly following the clone and fell into the spirits trap. The double and the real one managed to exchange positions, without her realizing. Yuji was the only one to understand the trick and was trying warn his friend.
Nobara’s guard down. Mahito’s hand made it to the girl’s faces as his clone was being murdered by Itadori. He pulled back to see if she would resist him touch, as Nanami did when Yuji ran to her side . Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Chapter 124, p. 1-17.
She touched her face, and she felt that it was the end. She was convinced that crazy people were here to ruin ordinary people’s lives, but then she remembered that crazy sorcerers filled hers and changed her mind.
While she was inputting, she took her hand off her face and turned to her friend. When her left side is broken and cracks open, she tries to comfort her friend.
Her blood splattered all over her friend. Her blood splattered all over her friend , leaving Yuji feeling an indescribable rush of emotions while he gazes down at what appeared to be the dead body from his nakama . (Jujutsu Kaisen manga: Chapter 124, p. 14-19)
Yuji’s mental state is broken down. He was about to be afflicted by the curse. Todo Aoi enters and saves.
He is accompanied Arata, who immediately attempts to heal Nobara using his ability, injury reduction technique. But he looks at Aoi, and tells him that he has very little chance for her . (Jujutsu Kaisen Manga, Chapter 126, p. 15-19).
How could Nobara Kusaki still be alive?
Arata explained that Nobara’s survival chances are not zero but that they’re not very high. Because of her abilities, she has been able to improve herself. Her spell helped her reduce the damage and, considering that her injuries were not too severe, her chances of success are much greater than you might think.
However, Megumi’s refusal to tell Itadori what Nobara was doing following the Shibuya Incident Arc is worrying. But, there is still a chance that this is just a teaser to keep fans intrigued.
We hope Nobara is still alive. Although we don’t know Akutami well enough to say that he would not kill a protagonist so early in the story’s progress, we believe he would. Itadori is the only character that can be expanded, but Nobara is our favorite and we will see her again.
A manga and anime rule states that characters who don’t die are still alive. Nobara did not die. This probably means she will return. It’s too early to know when, but we believe that Nobara’s survival chances are good and we will see her back in action soon.
WHAT ARE OUR THEORIES ON NOBARA KUSAKI DEATH ?
Theory 1
The first theory that Nobara is still living is that no one has announced her death. If the author wanted her story ending there, he would have made it clear for all readers, just as he did when Nanami was.
Theory 2
The second theory relies on the existence reverse cursed techniques that can shape the soul. Yuji offered his body to Sukuna as payment for Junpei’s death in the manga. Sukuna declined.
But Mahito has confirmed that these techniques can reversehis transformation and Nobara should be aware. This theory has one problem: Nobara is not a prodigy.
While it may seem easy for Gojo, it could be difficult for Noabara to accomplish it. On such short notice, it might be nothing less than a miracle. After feeding her core for some time, she has been growing and developing her cursed energies, and now, there is a possibility that her determination might be even more slim than we think.
Although it was confirmed that her heart stopped and her pulse stopped, it was also revealed that reverse cursed techniques could literally bring someone to life if they are applied directly after the death.
Theory 3
The third theory concerns the power difference between the three main characters. Although Megumi, Yuji and Yuji have been deemed equals yet, Nobara has a long way to travel. She may be able to overcome reverse cursed techniques and reduce the gap between her death and her resurrection, which could help her get to a higher level.
