Kozuki Hiyori is a Japanese journalist and author who has written extensively on the history of Japan. She is the founder and director of the Japan Media Research Institute, a think tank that specializes in media studies. Born in Tokyo, Kozuki Hiyori spent her early years living in Osaka before moving to Tokyo at the age of 15. She began her journalistic career as an intern at a local paper before becoming a reporter for the now defunct Jiji Press. In 2002, she founded the Japan Media Research Institute (JMRI), which specializes in media studies. Hiyori’s work has been highly influential within Japanese journalism and academia. Her books include “Japan’s Modern History: A Comprehensive Guide” (2006), “The Politics of Japanese Television” (2007), and “Japan’s Post-war Era: A Comprehensive Guide” (2011). She also lectures on media studies at various universities across Japan.
