Masou Gakuen HxH Season 2 is set to release on October 25th in Japan. The anime will have 10 episodes and will be released on two Blu-rays and one DVD.
Masou Gakuen HxH was originally a light novel series by Masamune Kuji. It was illustrated by Hisasi in 2014. The series aired from September 2014 to September 2019. There were 14 volumes. The story’s popularity and huge fan-following led to Riku Ayakawa adapting it into a manga series. There were 4 volumes and an animation adaptation. Production IMS made the anime series directed and produced by Hiroyuki furukawa in July 2016. It was later distributed internationally through Funimation.
Masou Gakuen HxH Season 1 : Recap Story
The story is set in the future, when Earth is attacked from the other universe by alien invaders through portals and with weaponry that blends magic and science. The invaders are able to defeat mankind’s weapons almost completely. Humans are forced from their land to build giant floating structures called Mega Floats. The only weapon that can be used against invaders is Heart Hybrid Gear, or HHG.
The HHG is a core that is placed within a person. By calling the HHG’s number, one can summon armor around the person which can be used to combat the Alternate Universe forces. Hida Kizuna has an HHG but it’s not powerful enough to make him a significant threat. His older sister asks him to transfer to a strategic defence school. There, many students use their HHG skills to combat invaders from other worlds while wearing very small pilot outfits.
Kizuna isn’t a fighter, but his sister has a plan. Kizuna and his sister will engage in erotic activities together, which will help the girls replenish their energy and power-up. As he and other Ataraxia defense academy members find themselves involved in a secret agenda to destroy two worlds and bring his beloved back from sorrow, his ability is crucial to their success.

Masou Gakuen HxH Season 2 : Renewal Status
The anime creators promised more content and a hidden message. This message was to be continued in the final episode. Fans have been waiting for the next season for years. Production IMS has yet to confirm its renewal. Despite the fact that it does not necessarily mean its cancellation, there are very low chances of it returning.
Many reviews have shown that the first season of anime didn’t perform well. Based on MyAnimeList ratings of only 6.25/10, both viewers’ and critics ratings were below average. The series was also a commercial failure, as evidenced by the low disc sales. Masou Gakuen HxH Season 2 may not be able to fulfill its records.

Masou Gakuen HxH Season 2, Release Date
The anime adaptations of manga and light novels have been largely used as advertisements for the source material. The light novel will be ending in 2019 and it won’t get the chance to return. Despite some exceptions, sequels are not allowed to be released until they have content to promote and some poor ratings.
Unfortunately, Masou Gakuen Season 2 of Masou Gakuen HxH has nothing to promote. The Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia light novels series has ended. Its manga adaptation has also been discontinued.
Despite its disappointing performance, Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia still enjoys a large fan-following. Many viewers loved the quality of the harems and ecchi content.
Even after its last release in 2001, there is still a lot of demand for the next season. If enough fans sign petitions to request Season 2, Production IMS and any other studio may give it a shot. There’s still hope until the sequel is cancelled.
