Tsukimichi manga and light novel series are compared to anime

The television series of anime is inspired by the Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu light novel series written by the author Kei Azumi, and artist Mitsuaki Matsumoto.

The story first came into existence in the year 2012, when the author began self-publishing the Tsukimichi web-based book on the Shosetsuka Ni Naro website. The web novel hasn’t yet concluded. It’s comprised of more than a hundred chapters and has been split into 7 major story arcs to date.

In the space of a year, Japanese publisher AlphaPolis was able to acquire the novel for a light novel adaptation . Volume 1 was published in May 2013. In June 21st 2021 they had the Japanese light novels had been published all the way to Tsukimichi volume 16.

The author in 2016 changed web-based novel hosting platforms to AlphaPolis because the company follows the policy of not allowing the web-based novel for the licensed collection to be published on other websites.

There’s also a second story web-based novel known as Moonlit Journey Across Another World Extra (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchu Extra).

in 2015, the creator joined forces alongside manga artist Kotaro Kino to create the Tsukimichi manga adaptation. The manga was more than 60 chapters long at the time the show premiered in 2015, the manga was still up to Volume 9 by June 22nd 2021.

Unfortunately there’s not a single North American publisher has announced an official Tsukimichi English translation. There are however fan-driven translations of manga and web novels which have kept current with the latest chapters. The Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy manga series was up to Volume 9 when the anime’s first season premiered. As you can see, the manga volume cover features Sophia Bulga, a character introduced at the ending of Episode 11.

When the anime industry transforms an existing light novel book story into an animation, the average is 3 to five books per season, or in cour. At times, fans of the original are angry at the changes to the story that are caused by the adaptation.

There are extreme instances such as Tokyo Ghoul, The Promised Neverland and Horimiya and the latter condensing manga chapters to the same season. At least, the Horimiya anime stayed true to the essence of the story, while also not sacrificing the story arcs and storylines of the side characters.

The anime, which is based on Goblin Slayer (Goblin Slayer Season 2 has been verified), Cautious Hero, Konosuba and Combatants are set to be Dispatched! These are considered to be outliers as they only took two light novels within a single course. The adaptation of a single book in just one court like that of the 1986 Eighty-Six anime is quite uncommon.

When a light novel is compressed into the TV episodic format, it’s inevitable that some details are skipped or changed. In this instance Tsukimichi was one of them. Tsukimichi anime brought the comedy aspects to the forefront, but with the consequence of skipping much of the worldbuilding as well, which means that the overall tone is certainly more enjoyable than the book fans will ever.

Tsukimichi Episode 5 is a bit of an exception as the story for the episode largely revolved around elements of worldbuilding. However, the primary goal in the show was advance the story forward by making Makoto get in touch with Rembrandt Trading Company.

The film wiped away the dark explanation the reason Patrick Rembrandt and his butler/former adventurer Morris are in fact criminals. The adventurers hated him because his trading company took over task normally done by low-ranking adventurers. But his shady policies were just the top of the iceberg.

Rembrandt first assumed control of the merchant trading firm by accusing the previous owner for murder and marrying the wife of the owner to receive the inheritance. He was exiled as it was his love affair with the first wife. That is why he wanted revenge.

In order to complete the attack, Rembrandt killed his first wife, with the full support of his later second wife, meaning the woman was not innocent. However, both the second spouse as well as her presumed innocent daughters had been cursed by the witch-doctors.

Today, Makoto remains blissfully unaware of Rembrandt’s shady deeds and is able to employ Rembrandt to further his mercantile and political skills. Tomoe is aware of the truth, however she’s decided not to reveal the truth to Makoto until Rembrandt is deemed to be the target of a threat.

The first season’s second part featured a tendency to skip a lot of manga chapters that contained point-of-view adjustments in the plot. The series generally focused on following Makoto around, so viewers who watch anime tend to view the world from Makoto’s perspective.

Apart from limiting the worldbuilding staying with Makoto’s perspective resulted in the anime not having an introduction to demon-generals such as Rona as well as the backstory of the jerks chosen by goddesses, as well as the way the hyuman kingdoms were preparing for war against

the demons. Makoto is literally thrown into battle, a scene which both the light and manga devoted many pages to build into, yet the anime fans are not given any information about.

However, this meant that the audience was as confused and unprepared as Makoto was when he stumbled upon himself teleported to the goddess, only for him to get assaulted with Sophia or Mitsurugi and then lose his fingers. Some readers who read light novels considered the story’s heroes subplot to be dull and it’s an unjustified omission from the anime.

The only thing that can be forgiven is that the series made the viewers to wait until Episode 12 before the introduction of Komoe the cute second character made by Tomoe following the death of his first. The new Chibi Tomoe first appeared in the manga Chapter 44 or web novel Chapter.

The second portion in Episode 12 does go back into the chapters skipped previously to give some not-so-clear context, and also demonstrates how the forest Ogres. Thankfully the obsession of the forest ogre with bananas didn’t go unnoticed given that comedy was usually the main focus.

It’s expected that the season’s final episode, Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- Episode 12, will hit the point of no return that is the close of the light novel volume 4 (web chapter 78 of the novel or manga chapter 59).You may also enjoy: The slime diaries season 2 publication date Tensura Nikki Tensei shitara slime datta ken season 2 predictions

It’s an excellent way to conclude the series because the next novel in the series begins with a lengthy story arc which shifts gears by placing the characters living in an educational setting. (Mushoku Tensei Season 2 is expected to follow a similar pattern.)

The positive side is that there’s plenty of material source in the light novel series for creating Tsukimichi Season 2. When the initial season becomes successful enough, the second season will become renewed with multiple courses instead of one.

The downside is that book readers would have to read the non-official English web novel if would like to keep up with the anime. There’s also the non-official English Tsukimichi manga collection, but the current manga chapters aren’t far in front of anime.
