My Hero Academia: Selkie is a manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan on October 3, 2013 and ended on September 25, 2014. The manga has been licensed for English release by Viz Media. Selkie is a young girl who has the power to transform into a fish when she feels inspired. She lives with her father and younger sister in the city of Oto, where she attends an all-girls school. Selkie is popular among her classmates for her intelligence and natural ability to turn into a fish. One day, she gets inspired to use her power to help people in need, and begins helping out at the local grocery store. She quickly becomes good friends with the store’s owner, Mrs. Kanda, and her daughter Mikuru. One day, Selkie’s father goes out of town for work and she has to stay home with her sister. While they are watching TV together, Selkie sees an advertisement for a contest that will award a scholarship to one of the best students at her school if she can win it. She decides to enter the contest and wins the scholarship! She then goes back home to start attending school full time again while also winning more contests! The manga ends with Selkie going back to Oto with her new scholarship and new friends Mikuru and Mrs. Kanda.

In My Hero Academia, Selkie è sicura di sé, gentile e professionale. Dà la priorità al lavoro del suo eroe e protegge la sua squadra. Con sgomento dei suoi scagnozzi, tende ad essere carino nonostante il suo aspetto maschile. Può ancora essere molto duro quando necessario.

A Mha, Selkie, che è a bordo dell’Oki Mariner, grida a Sirius e Tsuyu Asui di rallentare, ma in seguito si scusa per la sua “personalità carina” e salpa per inseguire un gruppo di clandestini accusati di aver rubato merci da una barca commerciale. Selkie e Tsuyu lasciano Sirius e Tsuyu alle spalle quando trovano la nave criminale.
Lui e due dei suoi scagnozzi indagano sulla nave, ma vengono presto intrappolati dai lacchè di Innsmouth. Selkie in seguito torna in azione quando Tsuyu invia un segnale di soccorso usando la radio di Sirius. Selkie scopre che Innsmouth ha accecato Sirius e Tsuyu con il suo inchiostro. Tuttavia, Selkie usa la sua ecolocalizzazione per sconfiggere il cattivo. Gli oggetti rubati vengono successivamente restituiti a Selkie, che afferma che un giorno sarà una grande eroina. Un’eroina è l’eroe.
