To adapt the ending of Fire Force manga’s Enen no Shouboutai Season 3

Fire Force’s story is based upon the Enen no Shouboutai manga written by Atsushi Ohkubo. He is also the creator of Soul Eater manga, which has received an anime adaptation.

Read our exclusive interview with Fire Force manga creator. He talks about the number of volumes planned, the ending of the series, and why Shinra’s name is important to the central mystery in the story.

Weekly Shonen Magazine has published the Fire Force manga weekly since 2015. Volume 32 was published as of December 17, 2021. Volume 33 was published March 17, 2022.

Fire Force Volume 34 included the final chapter 304 from the manga series. It was released May 20,22.

Kodansha USA is releasing the official English translation for Fire Force manga series. The English manga had reached Volume 25 as of December 21, 2021.

Volume 26 of the English Fire Force is due to be released on March 22, 2022. Volume 27 will be released on June 21, 2022 and Volume 28 will be released on August 16, 2022.

Ohkubo suggested in the author’s note section of Volume 23 that the Enen no Shouboutai manga’s end is near. He stated that the manga’s story was in its “final phase” in May 2020.

The manga entered the appropriately named Final Pillar arc at Chapter 235. Chapters 240 to 250 were the Battle of Amaterasu Arc. The Great Cataclysm was then represented by Chapters 251 to 286. Chapter 287 was the final story arc.

Weekly Shonen Magazine Issue 46 (October 2021) announced that the manga was entering its final story arc.

Sometimes, the final story arcs for manga series can stretch out for quite some time. The ending story arc for the Demon Slayer manga was over a third of its chapter count.

Fire Force’s final story arc was, however, quite short. However, the manga series overall is longer than Ohkubo had anticipated.

Ohkubo stated that he originally intended for Volume 30 to be the end of the story in the July 2019 Fire Force interview. However, Ohkubo stated that although this ending point is flexible and could be changed, there will not be more than 50 volumes.

Ohkubo said that although I had an ending in mind at the beginning of the creative process it wasn’t something that was set in stone. “I’ll be coming up with new ideas as I create the series to keep it interesting and enjoyable. Although it is flexible, my older manga stories have also led to the ending that I had in mind.

Fire Force ended with more than 30 volumes, which is not too surprising considering that Soul Eater’s manga ended with Volume 25. Ohkubo said that Volume 16 was “past its midpoint” at the time he gave the interview.

Although Ohkubo did not follow his plan, Monsters and Critics correctly predicted that Fire Force Volume 30 would end with Chapter 267. Volume 23 contained Chapters 204 and Chapter 267.

Ohkubo also announced in Volume 23 that Fire Force would be his “last manga series.” He is asking for fans to join him until the end of Fire Force’s story.

The Fire Force creator discussed in early 2022 how he felt unemployed after completing the story.

“At Soul Eater’s end, I had already written a news story about Fire Force for the magazine. I didn’t feel finished with the last chapter. He tweeted that he doesn’t plan to draw another story this time and that he didn’t feel like a job. “I have been thinking for a while that if I set a schedule for the number of chapters to be completed on this day, everything will go exactly as I had planned. I have never had anything unexpected happen, such as the story taking a different direction or messing with my schedule. After trying it, I realized that my family is in legal and finance so manga art wasn’t something I was interested in. However, outside of work things don’t always go according to plan! “Like the PS5 thing LOL”

The final page of Fire Force 304 could have made things even more complicated. In contradiction to the previous statements of Ohkubo, a note from the editors stated that manga lovers should “look forward To Atsushi Ohkubo’s Next Work”.

This is a common phrase that manga authors use to end their stories. Although Ohkubo only spoke about his retirement on Twitter, it is possible that something happened to him in the month following the completion of the last chapter.

Note : This article was originally published before the final chapter of the manga was released. It will be updated over time with more analysis.

What does Ohkubo’s announcement about the Fire Force Season 3 anime mean? Although the second season had 24 episodes, the length of the final season will depend on how many chapters were completed and how the story was adapted.

The ending of the Netherworld story arc was the focus of the first season. Chapter 90 of Volume 11 was the adaptation. The story was retold in Chapter 91 for the second season.

Fire Force Season 2 Episode 12 – The second season had been adapted to Chapter 125. Fire Force Season 2 Episode 24, Fire Force Episode 48, ended with Volume 20: Chapter 174.

The English translation of Volume 20 has been published so that English-only users can start to enjoy the anime immediately.

This was an odd ending point, as it ended with an arc that was mostly focused on training. That would have been a better start for Fire Force Season 3. The third season could have been adapting seven manga storyarcs.

Chapter 197 in Volume 23 would be a better point of departure, since it wraps up a dramatic story arc and ends with a pivotal turning point for Company 8.

The main problem with that stoppage is that the second season would need to be faster-paced as it would have over 100 chapters.

The actual ending point, however, perfectly positions the Enen no Shouboutai Season 3 anime for having 24 episodes again. The story ends 2022 with 130 chapters. Therefore, the Fire Force Season 4 scriptwriters might have to condense it again or plan for a single-cour Fire Force Season 4.

Let’s all hope that David Production’s animators do the Fire Force manga’s ending justice.
